The submission portal is now closed. In continuing with MassCUE's theme, MassCUE4ALL, this year's conference theme is MassCUE4All: Going Beyond the Surface. When thinking about equity, we often begin with surface-level information; definitions, motivations, and basic examples. At MassCUE, we believe it’s time to push beyond this introductory literacy and to dive into the heart of equity topics. As such, all of our strands will include the word "beyond" as a reminder of our goal to push past the comfortable and into the difficult conversations, as that is where true learning begins! In our efforts to uplift the voices of educators, MassCUE is focusing our RFP on educators in schools. Deadline to submit: July 19, 2024 Presentation Styles Ed Talks The Ed Talk is a traditional session that emulates a learning experience, which might be represented in a breakout session or a workshop to listen, learn and create. The session would focus on a specific topic or content area, a specific process, tool, project or resource. This is a 55-minute traditional session presented by one or two presenters via use of a slide deck or a similar mode of presentation delivery. Interactive Spaces The Interactive Spaces component will provide interactive opportunities to inspire educators. Presenters will showcase their work with attendees in table-top presentations and demonstrations, engage in discussion and build upon ideas and to provide takeaways to all who jump into the Interactive Spaces experience. This is a 55-minute informal session facilitated by one or two presenters. The interactive spaces for the 2024 fall conference are: AI Playground - Educators will showcase ways to integrate AI into education, exploring practical applications, ethical considerations, and innovative strategies, empowering participants to shape the future of teaching and learning. Creativity Cafe - Educators will showcase their work through tabletop activities and demonstrations, inviting educators to engage in discussions and leave with practical takeaways to inspire creativity in their classrooms. Educator Showcase: Poster Session - Educators will showcase innovative projects and engaging lessons, inviting attendees to gain inspiration for their own classrooms. Presenters will have access to a table with a display board. Conference Strands Beyond Literacy: Digital, Media, and AI - Explore innovative approaches to digital literacy, media literacy, and the integration of AI technologies in educational settings, empowering educators to navigate and harness the potential of these tools for deeper learning experiences. Beyond Fear: Student Data Privacy & Cybersecurity - Delve into strategies and best practices for safeguarding student data privacy and bolstering cybersecurity measures within educational institutions, fostering a safe and secure digital learning environment that prioritizes student confidentiality and protection. Beyond a Job: Digital Well-Being - Examine the intersection of technology and mental health in education, addressing the importance of fostering digital well-being among students and educators alike through mindful technology usage, self-care practices, and promoting healthy relationships with digital devices. Beyond the Visible: Supporting All Learners - Focus on inclusive practices and accessibility in education, exploring ways to support diverse learners including those with disabilities, learning differences, and diverse cultural backgrounds, ensuring equitable access to educational opportunities for all students.
