Kid-Friendly Digital Portfolios

Come learn how to increase student engagement and parent communication through using Seesaw with your K-5 students! Seesaw is a free digital portfolio app that allows students to independently document what they are learning in class using iPads or computers. Students easily log on using a QR code generated for you by Seesaw and once logged in, can demonstrate their learning through photos, voice recordings, drawings, videos and more! By having parents connect to their child in the class, they see real time posts throughout the school day to increase communication between parent, child, and teacher. It is a great alternative form of assessment as well for students with many different learning styles. With Seesaw, there are terrific opportunities to differentiate for all students (including ELL students), as well as incorporate Social Emotional Learning skills. Participants will experience how to use the app through the eyes of a student, hear tips & tricks, and walk away with ready activities to use with their own students. Please plan to bring an iPad or laptop device.
