Melissa Zeitz

Melissa Zeitz is a teacher with over 20 years of experience in the Springfield Public School District, where she currently specializes in Digital Literacy and Computer Science (DLCS) for grades PreK-8, after many years of teaching Special Education.

Melissa is committed to fostering creativity and problem-solving in her students while empowering them to understand the world around them and become the innovators who shape a better future. Her influence extends beyond the classroom as she delivers DLCS and Edtech training to teachers at conferences nationwide, serves as the technology and resource coordinator for the CSforAll Springfield grant, facilitator for CSforMA, co authored the DLCS curriculum guide book for MA, and is Co President of CSTA Massachusetts chapter. She was honored with the PAEMST in 2018 and the CS Teaching Excellence Award in 2023, recognizing her passion and dedication to teaching computer science to elementary students.

When she is not wired in, she is dancing, traveling, and spending quality time with her friends and family.
