Dr. Daniel Downs is currently the Digital Learning Coordinator of the North Reading Public Schools. In this capacity he oversees the facilitation of a Digital Learning model that robustly incorporates robotics, digital literacy and digital research skills across K12. Prior to the joining the MassCUE Board, Downs was a regular presenter at the MassCUE Leadership and Annual Conferences focusing on the areas
of Mobile Application Curriculum and Student Help Desk Curriculums.
Downs has held teaching and administrative roles in the areas of Art, Computer Science and Digital Learning in the Haverhill, Winchester, Andover and North Reading Public school districts. Downs has led 1:1 laptop programs and digital learning curriculum initiatives which include developing web design, mobile app development courses into the high school and college curriculums.
Following his work developing the Andover Innovation Lab that provided students with the opportunity to work on independent projects with technology, Downs has initiated a district wide implementation of innovative learning spaces in North Reading and the “Change Team” Technology Student Support Team.
Downs holds an E.D. in Instructional Design concentrated in Educational Technology from Argosy University, Master’s Degree in Education from Endicott College and a Bachelors of Fine Art from Tufts University. Downs dissertation “Student Experiences In A Project Based Learning Technology Curriculum At A Suburban High School” explores his deepest passions for engaging students learning and skill development with technology.
