The Massachusetts AI Leadership Event will bring together educators, instructional technology leaders, coaches, and district administrators for an afternoon focused on the thoughtful, practical, and responsible implementation of artificial intelligence in schools.

Through keynote presentations, hands-on learning, district examples, policy discussions, and small-group conversations, attendees will explore how AI can support teaching and learning while also addressing the leadership, culture, and governance needed for successful implementation.

11:30 AM — Registration and Check-In
Guests arrive, connect with fellow attendees, and prepare for the afternoon.

12:00 PM — Lunch, Welcome, and Opening Remarks
Welcome from MagicSchool AI, followed by remarks from Grace Magley, Executive Director of MassCUE.

12:15 PM — Opening Keynote
Unexpected Moments, Unforgettable Impact: Finding the Magic in Everyday Learning
Presented by Dr. Matthew X. Joseph, Assistant Superintendent of Technology and Learning at New Bedford Public Schools and CEO of X-Factor EDU.

1:00 PM — Enhancing Learning with MagicSchool AI
A hands-on session featuring practical tools, classroom applications, and strategies educators can use to support planning, differentiation, feedback, and student learning.

1:45 PM — Break

2:00 PM — AI in Action
Presented by Laurie Guyon, Lead Coordinator for Instructional Technology Programs at WSWHE BOCES. This session will highlight practical examples of how AI is being integrated into instruction, professional learning, and educational leadership.

2:45 PM — Small-Group Breakout Sessions
Attendees will select from facilitated conversations focused on:

  • AI literacy for educators and students
  • A deeper exploration of MagicSchool AI
  • Amplifying student voice with AI
  • Leading innovation while supporting educators through change
  • District AI implementation in action

3:15 PM — AI Policy and Governance
Presented by Mark Racine, former Chief Information Officer for Boston Public Schools and co-founder of RootED Solutions. This session will explore how districts can develop clear, responsible, and sustainable frameworks for AI use.

4:00 PM — Closing Keynote: Walk Up to the Magic
Dr. Matthew X. Joseph will lead attendees through a closing reflection focused on turning ideas, relationships, and unexpected moments into meaningful action.
