Learning in a 1:1 Chromebook Environment

Learning Tour Overview

John T. Nichols, Jr. Middle School has moved into a 1:1 Chromebook environment starting in October 2016. We have changed our schedule, curriculum, and instruction to be more personalized geared more to our students’ future.   Participants can see many of the steps we have taken to make the Nichols a better learning environment for our students with the help and support of technology.

About the host school/district:

The John T. Nichols, Jr. Middle School is sixth, seventh, and eighth grade school with roughly 800 students. Our school moved into being a 1:1 Chromebook environment starting in the Fall of 2016. Students grab their Chromebook in Homeroom and return it at the end of the day. Teachers have been phenomenal in learning how to teach better with the use of the Chromebook through G-Suite, apps, extensions, and other online programs including our completely digital math program, Digits by Pearson.
