Innovation Camp for Educators

Join other educators in our first-ever Innovation Camp for Educators.  The Camp will be a hands-on experience that focuses on low cost Makerspace Activities to encourage innovation in the classroom.  Attendees will have a choice to attend one morning and one afternoon two-hour session to encourage creating innovative lessons and sharing best practices. Lunch included.  All this learning for the low fee of $65. 

Example breakout session topics include: 

  • Novel Engineering 
  • Developmental progression of paper circuits 
  • Green screen 
  • Cardboard to create 
  • Design thinking for students

Cost $65 per person (includes lunch) Cancellation Policy:  Cancellations are allowed up to 5 days before the event. After that time if you are unable to attend the event you may either send another colleague in your place or pay the $25 cancellation fee.

Heidi MacGregor

Heidi MacGregor is the K-5 STEM Integration Specialist for Littleton Public Schools. Prior to this position, she taught 4th grade for 10 years at Russell Street Elementary School. Heidi is a MakerSpace and Global Education enthusiast and is always looking for new and exciting ways to amplify student voices. She serves on the MassCUE Professional Development Committee and is Co-Chair of the MakerSpace SIG. In addition, she is one of the co-founders of Middlesex Scratch Meetups. Heidi earned her M.Ed. from Lesley University and recently completed a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Technology Proficiency at Framingham State University. 

Erika Sandstrom

This is my 27th year as an educator including grades 3-8 in several subject areas. My experience includes 8 years of teaching in Missouri and I am in my 19th in the Peabody Public Schools in Peabody, Massachusetts.  My experience also includes 22 years of teaching educators and administrators’ courses and staff development in all areas of technology. I am currently teaching grades 6th-8th where I have created a new Digital Media Arts curriculum as well as serve on the Technology team where we recently rolled out our new 1:1 Chromebook Program.  Additionally, I teach courses for the Salem State Collaborative and serve as our District Coordinator. I hold a professional license as a Technology Integration Specialist and obtained 2 Master’s Degrees as well as served as Building Technology Facilitator for many years. I truly enjoy teaching Digital Media and traveling with students with the People to People International Travel Program.  I also own The Painter’s Pub and LimeLightGreenScreen.Com as side jobs that continuously feed the creative pang inside me! My passion lies in teaching educators innovative and emerging technology as well as educating students about the MANY digital age career paths and all the new and exciting opportunities that await them!
