About the Book Study
As artificial intelligence tools continue to make their way into classrooms, educators are looking for ways to use them that truly serve students without adding to their workload. Join instructional technology leader Alice Barr for a four-part virtual book study of Differentiation With AI: An Innovative Approach to Designing Student-Centered Learning Experiences by Jeannette R. Tejeda.
This engaging book study, held virtually on October 27, November 3, 10, and 17, 2026, will explore how AI tools can support differentiation and help teachers efficiently meet diverse student needs. Drawing from real classroom examples, teacher testimonials, and training sessions run by the author and her team, participants will examine hands-on, classroom-ready strategies for using AI in lesson planning, modifying instructional materials, and analyzing student data, all aligned with the ISTE Standards.
Educators will gain insight into foundational elements of differentiated instruction, including nurturing classroom environments, high-quality curriculum, clear learning goals, and formative assessment, and how AI can support each one. Teachers will also explore how to keep empathy and professional judgment at the center of instruction, ensuring that AI-driven adaptations remain human-centered, equitable, and effective.
AI can streamline the logistics of differentiation, but this book study emphasizes that it is the teacher's understanding of students that makes those adaptations meaningful. Differentiation With AI offers a practical roadmap for educators seeking to balance AI's efficiency with teacher intuition, creating learning environments where every student feels seen, supported, and challenged.
Author Jeannette R. Tejeda will join the book study on November 17, 2026, to discuss the book and answer participants' questions.
