EducationSuperHighway is partnering with MassCUE and METAA to host a hybrid event for tech directors, administrators, and network technicians. For the past year, national non-profit EducationSuperHighway (ESH) in partnership with DESE, has piloted a new initiative to address the digital divide for K-12 students in Massachusetts. ESH and DESE are now excited to invite all Massachusetts school districts to participate in K-12 Bridge to Broadband. This program comes at no cost to the district.

EducationSuperHighway will do a virtual “Fireside Chat” on Zoom on January 19, 2022 from 4:00 to 4:45.  The Chat will be an informal conversation with the staff from ESH so you can learn more about the work this nonprofit is doing and how it will help the Commonwealth.   Before attending the Fireside Chat you are welcome to watch their  webinar recording

IN-PERSON GATHERING CANCELLED:  MassCUE, in collaboration with our Corporate Partner Ockers, plans to host an in-person gathering of educators.   The in-person gathering gives educators the opportunity to watch the Fireside Chat together as well as socialize and network after the Chat.

Additional Information on EducationSuperHighway:

K-12 Bridge to Broadband is a partnership between EducationSuperHighway, school districts, and their local Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to collect connectivity data on student households. With data sharing agreements in place, districts share de-identified student addresses with their local ISPs through EducationSuperHighway’s secure data exchange platform. ISPs confirm if they can or cannot serve each address and whether or not they currently serve each address, resulting in a complete dataset and map that identifies a district’s unconnected student households. The exchange also provides the benefit of identifying infrastructure dark spots to prioritize longer-term connectivity investments in your area.
