How can technology support and enhance what's happening in our schools? TIE SIG discusses student use of technology, as well as teacher use. We examine available resources and what works and investigate new technologies. We invite teachers, pre-teachers, technology specialists, administrators, and parents to our sessions and hope to share and learn from each other.
We meet at the Burlington Public Library, usually on Tuesdays from 4-6 p.m. Each meeting starts with casual introductions and snacks and announcements. The major topic or presentation begins about 4:30 and continues until 6:00.
We enjoy wireless web access for our meetings in the library due to the efforts of the SIG group. Working with the library staff, we planned installation of a small network hub and base station to service the entire building and supplement the library's web access.
