MassCUE kicked off the Leadership in Blended and Digital Learning Program (LBDL) with a 2-hour, synchronous, virtual and face-to-face program orientation on March 1st. The LBDL program provides a job-embedded professional learning experience to prepare principals and their school-based leadership team to lead a blended and personalized learning transition in their schools. Fifty school leaders from 11 districts around Massachusetts were selected as the first cohort in this exciting new program. Developed by the Friday Institute, and vetted nationally, LBDL is delivered as a 60 hour blended course. Participants are led by experienced practitioners from the Commonwealth who have been trained by the Friday Institute, based at the College of Education at North Carolina State University. The selected school teams, will be guided through a planning process to produce a Roadmap for Leading a Digital and Blended Learning transition in their school.
The purpose of the MassCUE LBDL program is to grow Massachusetts school leaders, to lead a blended and personalized learning transition in their schools. Through the program participants will develop a shared vision for blended and personalized learning, learn how to support and build a strong teaching workforce, and foster a school culture that supports this type of digital teaching and learning transformation. MassCUE hopes that this will be the first cohort of many to go through this exciting new program.
