Using MassONE as a Tool for Online Professional Development Heidi Goldrick, English Department Chair, Taunton High School Jaimie Pereira, English Teacher, Taunton High School Taunton High School used the Department of Education’s Virtual Education Space (now MassONE) as a tool for a district’s summer online professional development entitled: "Improving ELA Skills for Educators Using Virtual Education Space." The purpose of the course was to help teachers and administrators to improve their writing and grammar skills. The presenters will review the capabilities of MassONE and the basic functions that participants need to master. They will describe the changes made to deal with hardware issues, managing communication through Microsoft Outlook, and using the forum feature. They will discuss Taunton’s development of a professional development program for “Technology Leaders” who will support staff with online professional development using MassONE. These technology leaders presented to grades 5 – 12 teachers on a district professional development day.
