Phonics for Struggling Learners Ruth Browne, Cluster Support, Office of Instructional Technology, Boston Public Schools Nancy Brown, Teacher, Chittick Elementary, Boston Public Schools Russell Faux, DavisSquare Associates Lexia, research-based software, has been used in nine Boston Public Elementary schools to provide an effective tool for reading skill assessment and development for struggling readers. Lexia capitalizes on the benefit that computerized instructional support can provide through daily support and reinforcement.
