| MassCUE,
Inc. is a non-profit, grassroots organization of computer using educators
representing every grade level and subject area. The organization
meets the need of those of us, novice and expert alike, who want to
investigate and implement technology in teaching the whole child.
The result is a growing network of informed educators who can help
one another and influence statewide technology activities. A monthly
calendar and a quarterly newsletter keep members abreast of important
computer education news such as grant information, successful curriculum,
restructuring, innovations, and meeting dates.
ISTE Affiliate
As the Massachusetts affiliate of the International Society for
Technology in Education (ISTE), MassCUE helps to develop and support
national and international computing policy for education. ISTE
is a nonprofit professional organization with a worldwide membership
of leaders and potential leaders in educational technology. The
organization promotes appropriate uses of information technology
to support and improve learning, teaching, and administration in
K–12 education and teacher education.
Conferences
From the initial meeting in December of 1982, MassCUE has held conferences
all around the state. Each conference offers a wide variety of presentations
by practitioners in the field, illustrating and explaining computer
use in schools as well as applied research in learning theory.
SIGs
MassCUE special interest groups allow members to pursue specific
interests with like-minded educators throughout the year. In addition
to SIGs organized by geographic area, subject-specific SIGs are
organized as interest demands. All SIG meetings are listed in MassCUE’s
monthly calendar, and any member (or non-member) is welcome to attend
any SIG meeting.
