Jeff Bajgot

Jeffrey Bajgot is currently the Vice-President for Technology Infrastructure Services at CELT Corporation. In 1988 when he began his employment at a major Internet service provider, he brought with him his experience from over nine years at MITRE Corporation where he worked on advanced networking and systems, having the opportunity to work with ARPANET and NSFnet, the precursors to the Internet. Jeff's work was to participate in the design, implementation, and support of the Superintendents Workstation, the first statewide computer network in Massachusetts. The proven success of this network led to its expansion and resulted in the dial-up education network known as MEOL (Mass Ed. Online LearnNet network) that was later provided to all Massachusetts teachers as part of MassEd.Net. In addition, he designed the necessary systems infrastructure and support structure to provide large scale DNS, Web hosting, email, and content filtering services.

The need for cost effective Internet content filtering is a good example of Jeff's important work with Massachusetts school districts. Due to the growing demand for network security, schools needed firewalls and Internet filtering devices, so Jeff directed the creation of a security and Internet content management device to meet that challenge. It was developed, in part, to help schools effectively meet the requirements of the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA).

This year Jeff and his longtime co-worker Carole Schuster were appointed to executive positions at CELT (The Center for Education Leadership and Technology) where they will continue to provide valuable technology and educational leadership in Massachusetts schools. At CELT they designed and developed the INTEGRITY™ program that provides a suite of communications and applications services targeted at schools with limited IT budgets and the need for high quality education, technology, and security solutions.
