Massachusetts Computer Using Educators

 

Workshop 8 : "Clammin’ and Jammin’ with MassONE on Cape Cod: Grades 6-12"

Prerequiste: Participants must be registered for MassOne and know their Username and Password.

Directions: Route 6 East to Exit 12. Bear right off of the ramp onto Route 6A. Take the first right, at the light, onto Eldredge Park Way. Continue on Eldredge Park Way for 8/10 miles, until the light at Route 28. Turn left onto Route 28. (South Orleans Road) Nauset Regional Middle School is on the left. Come in the front door, turn right, take your first left, go down the stairs on your right, turn left at the bottom of the stairs, and room 114 is the first room on your right.

Description of what will be covered: The worksop is targeted to both meet the needs of educators who would like to use MassONE for their own professional collaboration as well as those who would like to learn how to set up their classes, provide digital drop boxes for student work, common folders for student sharing of files, and provide their students with digital Web-based access to their assignments. The Nauset district has utilized MassONE for all students in grades 6-12 for the 06-07 academic year and participants will learn tips and tricks and the best ways to implement MassONE strategies into their teaching and learning. The class will be taught in a state-of-the-art TabletPC lab.

What will participants will take away with them from participating: Participants will have their classes rostered into learning groups, have folders created for both distribution and submission of student work, and will experiment with a professional forum set up for this training. In addition, participants will explore the lesson-planning tool, the calendar, and the Web sites showcased in MassONE. They will also receive a student quick-start guide and additional training materials for classroom and professional development use.

Any materials attendees need to bring with them: Their MassONE username and password, Their class list/lists for the 07/08 school year, Digital handouts on a flash drive or on a CD-R for uploading

Refreshments provided: Coffee (decaf and regular), tea, and mid-morning bagel snack

Refreshments attendees can bring: Any food or drink except those containing nut products.
