Description of what will be covered: This course is for teachers who want all the conveniences associated with having their own website, less the headaches. This is a hands-on course for learning to navigate the massone.mass.edu website. We will add work groups and roster members into the workgroups. We will explore aspects of the virtual hard drive (vhd), namely setting up folders (blocking or allowing access), setting up files, establishing drop boxes where students submit their homework, archiving files etc. We will look briefly at the additional tools: TSAT, Curriculum Tools and TLSR.
What will participants will take away with them from participating: Teachers will be come away from this class confident in their ability to set up work groups of their students. They will see practical ways for using this on-line resource to enhance the learning experience for their students, such as posting school assignments, and / or retrieving student results online.
Any materials attendees need to bring with them: If attendees are already setup with a massone account, they should bring their account ID and password. If not, a temporary “dummy” ID will be issued. There will be handouts. Attendees should bring writing implement and paper.
