All MassCUE members were eligible to apply for the scholarship. Only one scholarship was to be awarded. All applications were evaluated against a rubric developed and administered by MassCUE's professional development committee. In applying for the opportunity Lynn wrote:
“The 2006-2007 school year in Norton began with Alan as a guest speaker at our professional development day. We were very lucky to have him here in our district for the day, and his keynote was VERY inspirational to our entire staff. We also had Alan here to work with the administrators of the district in a workshop. He helped me get the sparks flying with our district leaders as we begin to make the “mind-shift” into the 21 st century with our teachers and students."
As t he scholarship recipient, Lynn will have the $695 tuition to the Building Learning Communities conference waived. In return, she will write an article for on Cue about the conference and the effect it has on her professional practice.
